Meet Odin

Odin is my Saint Bernard, and I wouldn't trade him for anything. Odin is my constant companion, always by my side, day and night. It's been that way for the past 4 years, and I honestly don't know what I would do without him. As dependent as I am on him, it seems he is equally dependent on me. When I have to leave him home, he tends to stare out the door until I come back, and if I leave him with a family member while I go run some errands, he tends to whine each time he hears a car that isn't me pass the house. He is also incredibly sensitive, and intuitively picks on the emotions of the people around him, regardless of whether they are outwardly on display or not.

Saint Bernards are great dogs

Who wouldn't want to be greeted by a life-sized teddy bear every time they walk into a room? They are known as gentle giants, and in my experience, the endearment is true...for the most part. A well-trained Saint Bernard can easily be one of the best dogs that you'll ever have. They tend to be loyal, loving, and eager to please their humans. That said, as with any pet, owning a Saint Bernard is a lifelong commitment, so there are some serious things to consider before you make the leap to add one to your family.
